Understanding Oregon Liquor Laws
In Oregon, the sale of liquor is regulated by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC). The OLCC sets the hours of operation for liquor stores, which are also known as liquor outlets. Generally, liquor stores in Oregon are allowed to operate from 7 am to 10 pm, seven days a week.
However, it's essential to note that these hours may vary depending on the specific location and the type of liquor store. Some liquor stores may choose to close earlier or later than the standard hours, so it's always a good idea to call ahead or check the store's website to confirm their hours of operation.
Liquor Store Hours on Weekends and Holidays
On weekends, liquor stores in Oregon typically follow the same hours of operation as weekdays. This means that they are usually open from 7 am to 10 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. However, it's not uncommon for some liquor stores to have reduced hours on Sundays or to be closed on certain holidays.
If you're planning to purchase liquor on a holiday, it's crucial to check the store's hours of operation in advance. Some liquor stores may be closed on holidays like Christmas Day or Thanksgiving Day, while others may have limited hours.
Regulations and Restrictions
The OLCC has implemented various regulations and restrictions to ensure that liquor stores operate responsibly and in compliance with state laws. For example, liquor stores are required to verify the age of customers purchasing liquor and to refuse sales to individuals who appear intoxicated.
Additionally, liquor stores in Oregon are prohibited from selling liquor to minors or to individuals who have been banned from purchasing liquor due to previous violations. These regulations help to promote responsible drinking habits and to prevent underage drinking.

If you're looking for a liquor store in Oregon, you can use the OLCC's store locator tool to find one near you. This tool allows you to search for liquor stores by city, zip code, or county, and it provides information on the store's hours of operation, address, and contact details.
